Does CodeBreakers work?
Here's just what a few of our graduates are saying

Lucy Wang

Google 2020

“As a student aiming to land an internship in the upcoming Summer as well as a full time job in the following Fall, Darek and CodeBreakers helped me to achieve both of my goals. I remember the time whenever I was stuck on practice interview questions or algorithm concepts at random times, and the coaches were always responsive to clear my doubts immediately.  The mock interviews helped me to be confident and thoughtful to nail the countless interviews I had through out the year. I met Coach Darek in 2019 April, after one year I graduated CoderBreakers with two internships and one full time offer with my dream company.”

Dave Wixon

Twitch 2019

“Coming from a non-CS background, breaking into software engineering is daunting. Without a degree, it’s hard to sell yourself as qualified and competent. I began working with CodeBreakers at the end of 2018. I was working full-time, and my free time was limited, but Coach Darek was able to work with my busy schedule — I spent 3 months studying algorithms and learning from well-thought-out materials.  Then, we spent 3 months practicing mock interviews and reinforcing my weaknesses with 1-on-1 coaching sessions.  They really care about you and want you to succeed. Before I knew it, I was in the interview process for several big-name companies, and received a great offer.  I know I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for CodeBreakers.”

Mo Luo

Google 2019

“As a busy consultant, I had no idea what it would take to break into software engineering. I managed to squeak pass the Google phone screen but knew I wasn’t ready for the onsite. That was when I started to work with Darek and Codebreakers. I needed to maximize the little time I had and the Codebreakers materials helped me formulate a studying game plan. In addition, Darek’s advice on habits and last mile preparation were critical in helping me get a Google offer.”

Allen Tran

Amazon 2019

“As a new grad that majored in CS. I soon came to realize that my CS curriculum did not prepare me for interviews. Shortly after enrolling in Code Breakers, my mentor assessed my CS foundations and got me started on one-on-one mock interviews. After each interview, I got lots of critical feedback that provided insight on what the interviewer is looking for and that helped improve my performance in subsequent mocks. I eventually got an SDE role at Amazon.”

Frequently Asked Questions

1Why CodeBreakers?
Here is a shortlist of the reasons to join CodeBreakers.
- Increased Pay: Our median graduate receives 145k in total compensation after CodeBreakers.
- 1-1 Mentorship: You get to work 1-1 with an experienced software engineer from a FAANG company to make sure you get a great job.
- Mock-interviews with coaches that interview at their own FAANG company. Companies typically have a cooldown period of 1-year before you can interview again. Doing mock interviews with CodeBreakers identifies weaknesses so you can solidify them before the real interview.
- Referral Network: The CodeBreakers referral network spans across 20 tech companies which ensure you are able to get the interview once you’re interview-ready.
2When can I join?
CodeBreakers is a 100% online program that starts once you enroll. You can complete it at your own pace, working through the program as quickly or as slowly as you choose.
3How much does CodeBreakers cost?
Income Share Agreements (ISAs) are a form of deferred payment, allowing students to focus on learning — and not on financing. With our ISA, you pay nothing until after you start working a job that earns at least your target minimum salary.

After a 2-week trial of the program, there is an initial deposit of $997 due. If you follow the program, then this deposit is entirely repaid if you don’t get a job within 6 months.

Our ISA is always based on a percentage of the total compensation for any job you receive through completing the CodeBreakers program. You will pay 15% of your 1.5 years’ salary to CodeBreakers if you are getting your first job in software engineering that pays you a minimum of $100,000. If you already have some work experience, check out the FAQ on experienced hires.

For example, if you get a job paying $120,000, you would pay $1,500 monthly for 18 months (15% of your 18 months salary).

We find that by tying our success to yours, we’re forced to evolve our product to ensure that you are getting job offers that you want and are excited about as fast as possible.
4I can't afford the deposit. Are there any options for me?
We understand that due to COVID-19 that many have lost their current jobs and can’t afford the $997 deposit.

Please still apply via the links on this page and do let us know of your situation and we will be happy to discuss alternatives. If you can demonstrate commitment throughout the first few weeks in the program, we may be able to decrease or waive the initial deposit.
5I already have a job. Is CodeBreakers for me?
We’ve worked with candidates with 20+ years of experience to get roles paying $400k and new graduates getting their first tech job and we understand there is no Income Share Agreement that will work for everyone.

If you already have done internships or have work experience, we can work together to find income share terms that work for you.
